Working out your NB limit

Take the net amount on your most recent pay stub and multiply by 0.3. If your last stub shows $1,200 take-home, the most you can borrow is $360. Lenders may ask to see that stub, or confirm it through your bank deposits.

Repaying early

You can repay early without a penalty, but in New Brunswick you still owe the full cost of borrowing. Early repayment saves you stress, not money, so borrow only for the days you need.

If a payment fails

A bounced cheque or pre-authorized debit can bring a lender fee, extra interest and an NSF fee from your bank. Talk to the lender before the due date if you can see a shortfall coming.
