Effective date: October 7, 2026. This policy explains how Jessica's House collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
- Contact details: name, email, phone number and address.
- Application details: date of birth, province, income source, pay schedule and employer.
- Banking verification: a read-only summary of recent deposits and balances, provided through a secure verification service with your consent. We never receive your banking password.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies.
How we use it
- To process your application and share it with licensed lenders so they can make a decision.
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud.
- To respond to your questions and send messages about your application.
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- To improve our website.
Who we share it with
When you apply, we send the details you enter on our application to our lending partner, Loans Canada, so you can continue your application with them and the lenders in their network. Their own privacy policy then applies to the information they hold. We otherwise share your application only with licensed lenders you apply to, service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting and bank verification), and authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
By submitting an application you consent to the collection, use and sharing described here. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot process your application.
How we protect it
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access is limited to staff who need it, and our service providers must protect your information to the same standard.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask how it has been used. Contact our privacy officer at info@jessicashouse.ca. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
